Thyme to Turnip the Beet and take our culinary skills to the next level! Just as important as it is to have fresh food and good recipes, it's equally important to know how to properly use and clean our kitchen supplies. Ever wonder how to clean wood cutting boards? Unsurprisingly, many people don't! Here are some tips and tricks to make sure your boards are sanitized and free from cracking and warping -- we asked the experts 💡

🔪 First things first, never put your cutting board in the dishwasher. Not only can the harsh chemicals of the detergent warp and crack your board, but the heat will do the same!
🔪 Wash soon after use with either liquid soap, or with a homemade solution. For homemade mixes, either use straight up white vinegar or mix 1-1/2 tsp of bleach with 4 cups of water.
🔪 After prepping raw meat, we recommend cleaning with a mixture of bleach/water solution to fully sanitize.
🔪 Condition the board as needed to keep it lustrous and free from bacteria. Do not use cooking oils to condition to avoid rancidity. Do use a food-grade mineral oil and beeswax blend to ensure the board's quality is long lasting. You can buy it or make it on your own by melting one part grated food-grade beeswax with four parts mineral oil by volume. After choosing the right solution, you simply rub the oil generously on all the surfaces of your board. Then, let it sit overnight so that the oil can really soak into the board. Stand it up on an end so the air can reach both sides of the board. Now enjoy your like new, vibrant cutting board!
