After retiring from the construction industry fourteen years ago, Jon Stadt, owner of Flour City Pasta, began making artisanal pastas in his garage after visiting Pike Place Market in Seattle. Jon realized from his visit that there was a market for homemade pasta which could be brought back to the East Coast. Jon returned home and got to work on his new passion, having family and friends taste his creations, Jon spent TWO years perfecting his recipes - so you know they’re good!

Containing 12-16% protein, Jon’s pasta has twice as much protein content as store-bought pastas. Partnering with local farms to use local ingredients such as spent brewers grain, distillers’ grain and wine pomace. Flour City Pasta dries their pasta long and slow, allowing it to ferment slightly and giving it an extra kick of flavor opposed to commercial pasta producers who dry their pastas hot and fast. With a shelf-life of three years, you can stock up on these delicious pastas.

The uniqueness of their spinach garlic and basil garlic vegan flavors, are just one of the many reasons why customers return weekly. Jon to make the best pastas possible including delicious ramens and mouthwatering cabernet pappardelle, all made using local wine products. Creating this dinner staple item takes between 6-7 hours a day and it doesn't stop there as he does it all himself--packaging, shipping, marketing finances--this list goes on when your driven by entrepreneurial spirit like Jon. Always smiling, he's shared frequently, “There is extra love and attention given to farmers’ market and small businesses products. I have always enjoyed the CNY Regional Market and have been selling here for years, resulting in very good friendships with customers - our community is a strong value for me.”
