Matt Hoxie, owner of Hoxie Farms, has been cultivating his entrepreneurial spirit since he was four years old! "Growing up on the Market was wonderful because the best thing, which truly can't be taught in a text book or during class hours, was social interaction and human skills. We see a lot of the same people week after week and we start to invest in them. Many of our customers remember me from when I was a kid or they even remember how excited I was when my wife and I had our first child. They get to know you and vice versa. It's kind of like having a great big extended family on the Market."

If you know Matt, you've heard him express his gratitude for work and family more than once, and mean it. "You can get so busy making a living, you forget to make a life. The flip side of being on the Market so young is that it taught me balance. There's Farmer Markets all over. It would be easy to go to one Market every single day, but it's important to spend time with family and friends." He's repeatedly reminding us all--his team, customers, fellow vendors--about the importance of a healthy lifestyle and a good attitude. "All of the days always end well and we're blessed to be a part of the Market, we've been here for 30 years and plan on being here for 40 more."
