The Regional Donut Authority's selection of sweet treats will drive you GLAZY!

The Regional Donut Authority has a long history. Originally, owner Rich Lickfield, opened the business to sell pizza with the intention of promoting his Cicero-based pizza business. After making pizza at the market for about 8 years, Rich and his family decided to transition to coffee and donuts in 2011. Today, Rich and his son Logan who runs daily operations, is proud to share that many customers have told them that upon arriving to the Market, the Donut Authority is always their first stop!

Rich shares “There are very few places these days where you can get a freshly made donut. I believe that when a customer takes a bite out of one of our fresh, hot donuts and it melts in their mouth, it takes them back to their childhood when their parents or grandparents would get them fresh donuts or even fry them up at home. Nostalgia.”

Specializing in freshly made fry cakes (better known as donuts), each one is produced individually by what their team fondly refers to as ‘The Donut Robot'. Oftentimes, it's running on full-tilt, producing 56 dozen donuts per hour, to meet the demand of any given busy Saturday Market. Apple cider and solid shortening have been attributed to the secret success of these mouth watering creations. Although the cost to make the donuts increases with these ingredients, Rich believes that the unmatched quality and continuous foot traffic of returning customers proves the ingredients are worth the extra expense.

Much of Rich's work is about spreading his entrepreneurial spirit and managing relationships that last a lifetime. “Our partnership with the Regional Market and the friendships we have built there with the other vendors has had a tremendous impact on our lives. The Regional Market is our home away from home and many people there are like family to us.”
